- Professor Liang Li’s research group is based in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
- Our research focuses on the development of advanced analytical mass spectrometry technologies for metabolomics, lipidomics, and related omics applications.
- We develop and apply a broad range of separation and mass spectrometric techniques, with particular emphasis on high-performance LC–MS, chemical isotope labeling, global lipidomics, targeted metabolite analysis, microscale and nano-LC–MS, and high-throughput analytical platforms.
- We collaborate extensively with researchers in the biological, biomedical, agricultural, and environmental sciences to apply these technologies to important research questions and to advance biomarker discovery, disease research, and systems-level understanding of metabolism.
- Our group is a part of The Metabolomics Innovation Centre (TMIC) of Canada, where we contribute to technology development, research collaborations, and metabolomics and lipidomics services for the broader research community.
